Facing License Suspension? Call Me.

One of the consequences of allegedly driving under the influence is the suspension of your driver’s license. The loss of their driver’s license often hits my clients hard, as they rely on driving to get to work, school, drive kids around and other essential travel. However, you have options after a DUI arrest and with the help of an experienced lawyer, you can fight the suspension of your driver’s license.

At the Law Office of Gregory M. Alonzo in San Jose, California, I help clients deal with their DUI/DWI (“drunk driving”) charges and any other issues that stem from the arrest, including driver’s license suspension and revocation, with over 35 years of experience handling criminal defense matters and issues with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). If you are facing DUI charges, a driver’s license suspension or other criminal charges, it is important to have an attorney on your side who can protect your rights and future.

Take Immediate Action After A License Suspension

After you have been arrested for DUI and your license has been taken, it is important to know that you only have 10 calendar days in order to request a hearing at the DMV. I can represent you at this hearing, which is held to try to prevent the initial “on-the-spot” or Administrative Per Se (APS) suspension of your driving privileges. If you do not request a hearing within 10 calendar days, your license will be suspended starting 35 days after your arrest.

Driving On A Suspended License

After a DUI arrest has resulted in a driver’s license suspension, it is important that you not drive unless a temporary license was obtained. If you are found to be driving without a valid driver’s license due to a suspension or revocation, you may be facing additional criminal charges. Your license suspension may be extended or a revocation ordered. In the most extreme situations, your license may be taken from you indefinitely.
